I am a German game design student at Mediadesign University (Md.H) based in Berlin, with 6 semesters of theoretical and practical experience, specializing in narrative design, game and character writing, as well as game design itself.

What I do

From understanding your requirements, designing a blueprint and delivering the final product, I do everything that falls in between these lines.

GAME DESIGN

From creating complex game systems, to documenting and communicating them, to engine work, level design, and iterating upon everything, my goal is to find a clear path towards the vision, in order to make that vision a reality.

NARRATIVE DESIGN

Whether you need a complete narrative framework, or 50 different small branching dialogues for various NPCs,
I am always more than happy to write and create engaging stories.

CHARACTER WRITING

If you are looking for any type of character, to fit any kind of situation or circumstance,
I am confident in my ability to write them, design them, and to make sure they fit right where you want them to fit into.

SCRIPT WRITING

Having learned how to construct movie scripts was important for me to figure out how I can adapt them for the purposes of Game Writing. Since I am also interested in film however, I am open for the opportunity to apply my knowledge in that field as well.

VOICE DIRECTING

Having worked together with voice actors, as well as classically trained actors before, I know how to work alongside them in order to find the direction for their character, and how to effectively convey them within the medium chosen.

GAME ART

While it is no longer my chosen area of expertise, I am capable of creating concept-, background- and character art, as well as making 3D models and designing assets. Usually I end up doing so in the final stages of development if need be.

I have responsibly led a team of 6 game designers to help, supervise and approve their designs, while also taking care of engine work (building puzzles, 3D environments, etc. in UE5), documentation (writing the GDD and other Internal Communication Documents), and further team direction as well.

In addition, I have also taken care of dialogue script writing and narrative documentation/direction alongside our creative director, in order to make sure that our vision for this project is combined and we are working together effectively to make that vision a reality.

Finally, I was making sure that the needs of the Game Design department were communicated effectively with the artists and singular programmer, and vice versa, was a part of my job description as well.

Alongside my 2 game design colleagues, I played my part in designing our core game loop, core mechanics, and core features, while taking care of documenting everything in our GDD.

I also created our narrator, wrote and updated 13 dialogue scripts and brought my good friend Sarah Doreen MacPhee on board as a VO-Artist. Alongside them, I live directed multiple recording sessions as a voice director, and later on cut/edited them for implementation.

Finally, I provided additional game art to help out our art department, said artwork being our lobby Screen, a few card designs, and the artwork for our narrator.

Narrative Designer/
Character Designer

In the beginning of this project, I was responsible for creating and outlining the general narrative direction our game would take, our main character and their backstory, and worked together with my team to decide upon which path to take.

Towards the end, I was responsible for creating about 40 of the NPCs that filled the world, working with our artists to give them proper visuals, and writing Dialogues and Events for them, with a minimum of 3 branching paths.
